Spring is right around the corner and who better than every Barbie’s favorite female emcee to start the season off. That’s right! The Harajuku Barbie, the Ninja, the Boss…Nicki Minaj.

The Trinidadian-born American rapper will be featured on the cover of PAPER magazine’s spring issue, which will be out on standing February 20th. The issue  features a great interview with Nicki by style expert and creative ambassador-at-large of Barneys New York, Simon Doonan (whose new book, Gay Men Don’t Get Fat, is a must-read). The two talk about everything from how Minaj deals with the pressures of fame to their mutual obsession with Big Ang from VH1 reality series Mob Wives. Stay tuned for the story as well as more photos of Nicki in the coming weeks and, in the mean time, enjoy this sneak peek pic!

For the issue we asked Barneys creative-ambassador at large and author Simon Doonan to interview pop super-star Nicki Minaj. We love Nicki’s unique style and unconventional look and Simon has devoted his career to celebrating fashion odd-balls and women who push the envelope (see his book Wacky Chicks). They had a short and sweet interview and discussed reality TV, Rick Santorum and Minaj’s style idols.
