Sporting*Goods: Broncos Win Super Bowl 50 & Marshawn Lynch Retires

Thug-related style attract millions. Fans they understand my plan, who’s the kid up in the green Land? – RaekwonIncarcerated Scarfaces

Football season is officially over and one of the more mediocre NFL seasons ended the perfect way—with a dud. The Denver Broncos defeated the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 in a game that will only be remembered because it was the 50th installment of the Super Bowl. Outside of Von Miller’s legendary performance there was not much to like about the biggest game of the year. The rest of the stars—MVP Cam Newton and Peyton Manning were horrible–failed to live up to the moment like Miller and that’s what took away from this game the most.

The biggest newsworthy story that came from Sunday’s Super Dud was not Cam Newton’s post-game press conference (ESPN will harp on this for weeks, but would you want to answer idiotic questions when you just lost the Super Bowl?), but Marshawn Lynch’s big announcement. I won’t spoil the news, but let’s just say Beast Mode and Derek Fisher suddenly have a lot more things in common than they did 36 hours ago. See what these two have in common and what else went down this week in this edition of Sporting*Goods.
