Yesterday (Nov. 24) Chicago police released footage showing a white officer Jason Van Dyke fatally shooting 17-year old black teenager Laquan McDonald back in October of 2014. McDonald was shot 16 times, and on Tuesday (Nov. 24) Van Dyke was charged with first degree murder and is being held without bond.

The video quickly sparked protests across the city, and rapper Vic Mensa was joined protesters to rally against ongoing police violence. In a video posted to Twitter, Mensa says:

“We out in downtown Chicago right now. I just got hands put on me by police. We want justice for Laquan and we want justice for our people.”
