Aaaaand we’re back! It’s been a crazy two weeks, a lot has happened, and in a lot of ways not much has changed. The NBA is officially under the control of Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. In case you didn’t think the defending champs could get better you could think again because they are now 16-0–the best start in league history for a defending champ–and on pace to challenge the legendary 1995-96 Chicago Bulls and their league-record 72 wins. Much like the Bulls had their superstar Michael Jordan the Warriors have their guy in Curry who is operating at apex Jordan level in his own respect.
It hasn’t all been about Curry–even though it feels like it–early in the hoops season. The 2015 rookie class has made their presence known from the jump and look poised to challenge the 2003 (LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade) and 1996 (Kobe Bryant, Allen Iverson, Ray Allen, Steve Nash) as one of the best of all-time. Leading the way is top pick Karl-Antnony Towns who has paired seamlessly with Andrew Wiggins and has the Minnesota Timberwolves balling. Another rookie that has made a (surprisingly) big impact on his team has been Kristaps Porzingis. Yes, the one who was booed (by me and many others) on draft night now has the city of New York eating out the palm of his hand. See why and see what other top plays made the countdown in the return of WTF Happened In Sports This Week.
