Sporting*Goods: Floyd Mayweather Cruises To 49-0 & The Patriots Have A Brand New Scandal

They can’t shut up me / Shut down I, not even P.E., I’ma ride /God forgive me for my brash delivery /
But I remember vividly what these streets did to me – Jay-ZWhat More Can I Say

Sundays are back to being the best day of the week. That’s right I’m talking football. While the summer being over sucks, getting football back isn’t that bad of a consolation. Week 1 of the NFL season kicked off Thursday with Tom Brady came back and put on a ‘f you’ performance we all expected, leading his Patriots to the opening night win. On Sunday there were some upsets,–Bills smacking up Andrew Luck and the Colts–some beatdowns–Marcus Mariota leading his Titans to a 49-14 blowout win over Jameis Winston and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers–and some crazy finishes.

In the midst of this football hysteria was Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s final fight. If you didn’t give a sh-t about his fight with Andre Berto you were in the majority of the public. In a fight that was as predictable as a John Cena match not many people were willing to cough up $65 to watch the “best ever” one final time. This lackluster exit does leave the door open for one final fight in 2016.

If you were not a fan of boxing or football you were still in luck of entertainment. See what else went down in a busy week in the sports world in this edition of Sporting*Goods.
