Suspect Arrested Following Monday’s J. Cole Concert Shooting

A Holmdel resident (27) has been arrested following Monday night’s J. Cole Concert shooting at the PNC Bank Arts Center, a central Jersey venue, leaving two men in critical condition.

Quran Powell was located and arrested in East Orange two days later, just 30 miles north of where the concert was held. Powell is being charged with two counts of attempted homicide and other weapons offenses. The two male victims, 23 and 24, are stable but remain in critical condition. The shooting took place in the venue parking lot around 11 pm.

Before the suspect was detained, a $5,000 reward was offered for information regarding his motives or whereabouts.  Investigators, who were tipped off by a witness, proceeded to search the suspect’s home where they discovered that he might be hiding out in an East Orange residence.

Powell has been relocated to the Monmouth County Jail and is being held on a $750,000 bail.
