In honor of Raekwon’s twentieth anniversary for the notorious album release Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, the “Walk Wit Me” rapper, Packer Shoes, and Diadora have collaborated together on the new N.9000 sneaker that is set to be released today (August 20).
The Italian-made Packer x Raekwon x Diadora N.9000 “Purple Tape” shoes will be unveiled exclusively at S.O.B.’s NYC with a Raekwon concert later on in the evening.
Being that the sneaker was made to dedicate Raekwon’s album, it only makes sense that the sneaker be different shades of purple in reference to the “purple tape” cassette that was used as a marketing strategy to separate Raekwon’s work from the rest. It is now is a rare and valuable item.
The insoles contain the full track list of the album. Not to mention the ever so recognizable parental advisory tongue label, “1995” embroidered heal, and the numbers “1” and “2” on each heel to reference both sides of the tape.
The sneakers are being sold for $200 and according to Packer Shoes, fit a half-size big. Two New Era hats for $50, a T-shirt for $30, and a track jacket for $160 are also being released.
You can purchase the sneakers as well as the tickets for Raekwon’s concert at S.O.B.’s here.
