WTF Happened In Sports This Week: WWE Takes Over Brooklyn, Mets & Cubs Take Over Baseball

Goodbye summer it’s been real! Is it me or does summer go significantly faster than every other season? Luckily for us winter is not coming back around for another couple months and fall is the second best season of the year. Before we get ahead of ourselves though let’s properly say goodbye to August and the final weekend of sports it had to offer.

The WWE took over Brooklyn this past weekend for SummerSlam featuring brand names like The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, John Cena and even Jon Stewart (yes you read that right). This event was so big ESPN actually covered it like a real sport for once and the WWE did not disappoint giving fans unpredictable–and somewhat stupid–endings. On the diamond it is almost playoff time and the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets are poised to end their respective postseason droughts in style.
