As reported by the official Philippines News Agency this morning (July 22), Chris Brown (26) has been barred from leaving the country due to an apparent contract dispute. Before preparing to board a flight to Hong Kong where he would perform his next show, his private jet was stopped from departing Manila’s international airport.
Chris Brown was pinpointed by the Philippine Department of Justice after an order stating that he was forbidden to leave the country was issued on Tuesday night (July 21). As promised, the Ayo singer did perform the show he had planned for Tuesday evening. The contract dispute regards a neglected appearance he failed to make last New Year’s Eve. Promoters are now demanding their money back, hence the reason the artist may not leave the country.
“The Bureau of Immigration said Brown and his promoter John Michael Pio Roda were both subject to an immigration lookout bulletin, but they could seek a clearance certificate that could allow them to leave if the Department of Justice consented.”
More information will become available as the day progresses.
