It’s no secret Chris Brown loves being a new daddy, but now he’s wanting to make it a bit more official. As reported, Chris Brown has started to file legal documents in order to establish paternity over his daughter, Royalty.
Child support has weighted heavy on Chis and baby mama Nia Guzman’s minds, a critical issue in any parent’s battle for joint custody. Establishing paternity will allow Chris to have more say in issues like child support payments and will ultimately allow him to have partial custody over their one year old in general.
It’s been stated that Chris Brown would also prefer to have a judge determine the amount he should be paying in monthly child support. As of right now, ex Nia is demanding a whopping $15,000 a month and also allegedly has been denying Chris Brown the right to see his daughter.
“I think this was just a blessing in disguise with my daughter because I get a chance to look at her and teach her the right path and also be a father in my daughter’s life,” he told Ryan Seacrest. “Just to see a smile on her face—just to see the littlest things—is emotional for me, so I just love that aspect of being able to be a father now.”
We’re rooting for you, Chris.
