Fourth of July weekend 2015 has come and gone. I hope everyone enjoyed the beer, barbecue and fireworks on their weekend off. What made this Independence Day weekend so good was the way it ended, with a new American hero rising and conquering—Carli Lloyd. Not only did Lloyd set a Women’s World Cup Final-record, but her effort allowed the U.S. to make history as well.

During the week it was all about another big American tradition, money. The NBA free agency period began and players were getting PAID. In just the first day of free agency over $1 billion was shelled out to free agents. The big winners of the week consisted of Anthony Davis, LaMarcus Aldridge and DeAndre Jordan who all took home max offers this week and assured that the Western Conference will continue to be a gauntlet for the foreseeable future.
