Cole kept good on a deal he made with Washington Township High School graduate Cierra Bosarge back in 2013 after she sent him a letter through Twitter, letting her know he would attend her graduation if she received good grades in school and was accepted to a four-year university. Bosarge kept her end of the deal, and not only did Cole show up, but he also Cierra some advice and gifted her with a few of his favorite books to read, one of which was journal that had a handwritten letter from the rapper inside.
Cierra uploaded a photo of a tattoo inspired by J.Cole’s handwriting on Twitter, with the words “I am proud of you” inked on her back.
After my graduation after I talked to Cole and I was on the bus going to project graduation, I was thinking about the speech Cole gave me and how I didn’t remember him saying he was proud of me. That’s all I wanted to hear. Then I remember with the bag of books he gave me was a little journal and it had a letter in. In the letter he wrote these exact words. This is his handwriting:
This means so much to me. The man I look up to the most in this world said the words we all want someone special to say to us one day. “I am proud of you.”
Aside from the very nice tattoo, Cierra also revealed that J. Cole will help her pay for her tuition.
