Young Money, himself, is not into playing about his money.
Just in case you missed it, Lil Wayne is not too happy with Birdman and his current label, and is actually suing the label for a couple million dollars. In the meantime, until that’s settled, Weezy is making sure he doesn’t miss out on any more of his dollars. With that being said, the rap star has recently partnered with Kobalt Neighboring Rights, a royalty collections company.
He wouldn’t be the first to partner with the company. Artists such as Busta Rhymes, Bruno Mars, Ariana Grande, and OVO’s very own, Noah ’40’ Shebib are all apart of the Kobalt family. According to their website, they seem like the place to be. In a statement they said, “Kobalt’s powerful tracking system compares collection against detailed in-house expectations to ensure all income is correctly accounted. Kobalt develops these detailed expectations from 3rd party performance data, Territory expectations from Kobalt’s pre-distribution health check, as well as from the client’s income data. Combining these three data sources allows us to monitor collection and ensures all income is received.”
From the looks of it, Weezy F. Baby did the right thing. And if the label did really start playing with his money, the F really might be for Finisher.
