The apex of the sports cycle was operating on all cylinders this week. After a week with not much action going on this week was the polar opposite. On Saturday (June 6) alone there was the first Triple Crown in horse racing since 1978, a Stanley Cup Finals game, the UEFA Champions League Final and Miguel Cotto vs. Daniel Geale—a match in which Cotto dominated Geale and announced he will fight Canelo Alvarez so maybe there is hope for boxing–for the middleweight title in boxing. That was just Saturday.

Aside from the crazy Saturday was the beginning of two classic Finals matchups both in the NBA and NHL. LeBron James is on pace to have the best Finals performance in recent memory and Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are on the cusp of winning three Stanley Cups at the age of 27.

So please set your DVRs and enjoy these respective sports being played at its highest level on the highest stage. Now let’s see what exactly went down this week in this edition of Sporting*Goods.
