Right before the release of his latest album, At. Long. Last. ASAP., A$AP Rocky visited BBC’s 1xtra, in the UK, for a chat with Charlie Sloth.

Rocky discussed a number of things in the 20 minute interview, including his latest album and why he thinks this to be his best work so far. The most interesting part comes at the 14:15 mark, where Rocky confirms that his is currently working on the unfinished album of A$AP Yams. Take a look at what he had to say about it in the interview above.

“Yams started an album before he passed and he left his notebooks and blueprints and I’m just picking where he left up, because me and him were gonna do the album together. He was working on a crazy album. I’m letting people know that if I do something good, the next thing I do will be have to be great.”

Rocky goes on to explain that this is a “good time for hip hop” and that he’s not here just to make “the best music,” he feels that music needs a purpose.

“It’s got to be for a purpose…I think people need good music and that kids need guidance.”

The “Purple Swag” rapper has not yet confirmed  when we can expect to get our hands on the finished A$AP Yams’ album but we do hope it’s soon.  In the meantime, be sure to check out A.L.L.A.
