Seems like everyone has gotten over Deflategate–except Indianapolis Colts fan Jacob Ayers. Jacob is still pissed that his Colts got shellacked at the hand of the slimy New England Patriots. Apparently slightly deflated footballs played a monumental role in the Pats 45-7 smack down of the Colts. While the NFL has already punished the Pats more than enough, Ayers was still not satisfied.
Ayers is channeling all that anger, disgust and saltiness into a unique way. He launched a Kickstarter campaign for the “Deflate-Gate Super Bowl Ring and Player’s Pack.”
Help preserve those treasured Deflate Gate scandal memories with what should have been the real Super Bowl ring this year!!!! I live in Indianapolis and as you can imagine we hear about Deflate-Gate any chance something breaks. I wanted to use this as an opportunity to have a little of John Oliver style fun with the topic at hand and give the people a creative medium to voice their opinion. With this in mind I am putting my computer aid design skills to the test and making the Super Bowl rings that the Pats should have got.
I made a fast prototype the other day to get the basics figured out to get some pricing done on it. The final version will be way more awesome 🙂
As you can see the ring design take a minimalism approach featuring a ball needle and a blue ring. But the giving doesn’t stop there, here are all the packages Ayers is offering:
- Players Pack $20-Receive your own Deflate Gate Super Bowl Ring and a set of 3 commemorative buttons which include the “Kravitz Press Pass”, “Tom Brady’s Perfect Balls”, and “Belichick the Science Guy”.
- Deflate-Gate Concerned Fan $40-You will receive the Players Pack above PLUS we will mail a letter from you and Deflate Gate ring to either the Patriots or Roger Goodell so you can tell them how you really feel.
- Deflate-Gate Angry Fan $50-You will receive the Players Pack PLUS we will mail a letter by you to BOTH Roger Goodell and the Patriots telling them how you really feel and give them the Deflate Gate ring they deserve.
Yeah I know this guy has some serious issues and a lot of time on his hands. There is still time to be Ayers’ first backer so go to his Kickstarter and donate!
