Not too long after his release of To Pimp A Butterfly, Kendrick Lamar was offered the June cover to Ebony magazine, in honor of Black Music Month. Obviously, the “King Kunta” rapper accepted and out of excitement, revealed his cover on Twitter last Friday(May 22).
Ebony prides itself in recognizing “millennial artists” who prove to be revolutionaries in the music business. No doubt, Kendrick was a perfect match. Check out his cover above and even some behind the scenes footage of the shoot here.
Other things we can expect from Kendrick include, his first appearance on day time tv. Wednesday(May 27), the artist is scheduled to appear on Ellen, for a special performance of “These Walls.” Make sure you tune in but until then you should check out To Pimp A Butterfly on iTunes.
