Everybody has a dream NBA Finals pick. In the midst of the league’s second golden era (the first taking place between the mid-1980s to mid-1990s) this year’s playoffs have no shortage of superstar match-ups. So that means we will definitely get an exciting NBA Finals that everyone wants to see right? Yes and no. There is no doubt this year’s Finals will be amazing, but will it be the match-up fitting for one of the best seasons since Michael Jordan graced the hardwood? Maybe—but let’s be honest, we rarely get the Mayweather-Pacquiao match-up so to speak.

What if we did? Who would that match-up feature? I’ll do my best to rank the five Finals match-ups that the world wants to see. The criteria we are looking for here is star power (LeBron, Curry, Harden), play style (Spurs space and pace, Bulls defensive stalwarts) and argument starters (LeBron is no MJ, Is Harden that good?)—in other words what are the teams you argue about in the gym, barbershop or office? The classic example is LeBron vs. Kobe. People still lose friendships over who would win in a Finals tilt and we will sadly never know who would win. Well all that changes today damn it! Let’s get started.
