Azealia Banks Will Make Her Acting Debut In RZA’s Film ‘CoCo’


Azealia Banks, recently released her first album Broke With Expensive Taste, and now the rapper is slated to make yet another debut, this time in a feature film. Banks will play the title character in the Lionsgate drama Coco, an aspiring twenty-something rapper who is torn between wanting a career in hip hop and following parents’ dreams of finishing college. She chooses the latter, and inside of the classroom she is exposed to spoken word, which helps her reach her goal to be a hip hop artist. The Brooklyn-set film will be directed by Wu Tang Clan’s RZA.
