Talk about two years too late. The Oklahoma City Thunder have finally fired their head coach Scott Brooks after seven seasons according to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski.

I cannot emphasize how late this firing took place. Brooks was once a decent head coach with an extremely talented stable of legitimate superstars that made the 2012 NBA Finals once upon a time. That time has passed and I believe Brooks should’ve been canned after that season as cruel as that sounds.

How many other coaches can boast a lineup of Russell Westbrook, James Harden, Serge Ibaka and Kevin Durant? No one. This team was the dynasty that never was. It’s not all on Brooks, but he didn’t help his cause with his idiotic lineups and lack of real game plan.

If I were Thunder GM Sam Presti I would’ve hired UConn head coach Kevin Ollie a year or two ago especially after hearing Durant talk so highly about him.

Now Ollie is staying put in Connecticut, Durant is probably leaving in 2016 and Westbrook in 2017. Yikes.
