This past Saturday(April11th) rapper, Nelly, was arrested for drug possession in Putnam County, Tennessee.
The 40 year old “Hot in Herre” rapper was on his way to St. Louis when his tour bus was stopped around 9:20 am for not correctly displaying DOT and IFTA stickers. Two officers, identified as Trooper Michael Loftis and THP Sgt. Donald Jennings, didn’t take long before conducting a search of the bus that held 6 passengers, one being convicted felon Brian Jones of St. Louis, Missouri.
The police found a number of things in their search including; a plastic bag in the sleeping area that tested positive for methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia, 100 Ziploc bags(which could be used to sell narcotics) and a variety of handguns ( a gold-plated 50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol, a 45-caliber Tarus pistol and a 500 magnum Smith and Wesson). Jones was also armed when police conducted their search.
Jones and Nelly were both taken to Puthnam County Jail. Nelly later posted bail and was released, according to the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
