On Tuesday, Kanye West‘s promotion for the celebrity-endorsed music streaming service TIDAL, disappeared from his Twitter feed. As first noticed by Complex, West removed a tweet that read, “Together, we can turn the tide and make music history. Start by turning your profile picture blue. #TIDALforALL.” Yeezy also changed his profile picture back to artwork from his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
This news comes as TIDAL experiences a host of problems on the business side, with its CEO getting the boot, two dozen employees being let go, and the service falling out of the top of the top 700 downloaded apps in the US iOS App Store chart. On Monday (Apr. 20) Pandora and Spotify occupied the number three and four positions on the chart, marking the first time two music streaming apps have placed in the top 4 simultaneously.
But there may still be hope for the streaming service, with Fuse host DJ Skee reporting Wednesday (Apr. 22) that Jay Z and Beyoncé‘s long-rumored joint album is nearly done and will “be released exclusively on Tidal.”
