Jay Z’s music streaming service TIDAL has been the topic of discussion of since its relaunch last month, with some fans and spectators questioning how and if the new site would fare against Spotify. However, Hov may have the upperhand when it comes to customer service.
Tidal executive Vania Schlogel told Business Insider that Jay Z has been personally calling those who use the site:
“He called some of his fans and one of them made the funniest comment. He said, ‘This is the best customer service call I’ve ever received!’”
Besides Jay Z, other musicians including Jack White have been calling subscribers to thank them for using the service as well. According to Rolling Stone, artists involved with Tidal are given special accounts on the site where they can monitor who listens to their music and view stats on their albums’ performance. Tidal also has access to users’ contact information so musicians can get in touch with them directly.
In other news, Andy Chen, CEO of Tidal at Norwegian-based parent company Aspire Group, has left the company.
