The Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks rivalry has been contentious to say the least. Following the Rockets’ Game 5 victory and first round series win over the rival Mavs the Rockets Twitter account sent this out.
To the Mavs credit they did not stoop down to the Rockets’ level, instead congratulating their rival and wishing them playoff success.
@HoustonRockets Not very classy but we still wish you guys the best of luck in the next round.

Apparently the rest of the Rockets organization felt the same about the tweet. After apologizing on Twitter to the Mavs and their fans the team fired their social media manager.
Our Tweet earlier was in very poor taste & not indicative of the respect we have for the @dallasmavs & their fans. We sincerely apologize.

The Rockets await the winner of the grueling Spurs-Clippers series while the Mavs look forward to next season. Needless to say this rivalry is going to get a little nastier next season and beyond.
