J. Cole Leads Slave Revolt In Powerful New Visual For “G.O.M.D.”

J. Cole travels back in time in his new powerful video for “G.O.M.D.,” off his latest album 2014 Forest Hills Drive.

The Lawrence Lamont-directed visual is heavy with themes of colorism and oppression, with Cole playing a house slave on a plantation in the antebellum south. During a dinner, Cole gets the keys to a gun closet and gives them to his fellow slaves. Watch the clip above to see how the story plays out, and be sure to check out the North Carolina MC on his “Forest Hills Drive Tour.”
