Revis Island Reopened: Darrelle Revis Agrees To Terms On Return To Jets

Dear New York Jets fans,

The dark ages are over. Revis Island is returning to its origin–Gotham City. That’s right, Darrelle Revis has agreed to terms to return where it all began according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

As Mr. Schefter broke down above this reunion didn’t come cheap–nor should it have. Jets owner Woody Johnson could have had this deal last year if he wasn’t petty, but that’s in the past. Now the future looks much much brighter for the Jets. The final numbers on the deal are five years for a whopping $70 million with $39 million guaranteed making him the highest paid corner back in the game. Take that, Richard Sherman.

Revis comes back to a beast defensive line headlined by Mo Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson and a nice linebacker core with a familiar face in the middle, Jets captain David Harris. Excuse me for a moment…

Sorry about that, with the Knicks, Yankees and Devils I haven’t had much good news on the sports front. I have Jets GM Mike Maccagnan to thank for that. He’s started his regime off on the perfect foot showing he’s not afraid to do crazy sh*t.

The off-season is far from over, but the early winners have to be New York’s other football team.
