Chance The Rapper Debuts Acting Skills In ‘Mr. Happy’ Short Film

On Friday (Mar. 20) Vice premiered a short film starring none other than Chance The Rapper, titled Mr. Happy.

Chance stars as Victor, a man who is struggling with depression, a cheating girlfriend and a dead end job. He tries to kill himself, but fails and decides to surf the web for some answers. That’s where he stumbles upon, a service in which you can hire a hit man to do the job for you.

The film was directed by Collin Tilley, who admits that he met Chance on a shoot for Justin Bieber’s “Confident.”

“We were shooting Chance’s part and we got to hang out all day and got into some really cool conversations. Chance is like one of the most down-to-earth people I’ve ever met and right away I was like, This dude is really special. We talked about film and he was telling me how he wanted to get more involved in it.”

Chance The Rapper has other projects that he’s working on as well, such as his Surf LP—a collaboration with Donnie Trumpet and The Social Experiment. He’s also reported to have done some work with Migos, Frank Ocean, J.Cole, Rick Rubin and Emily King, just to name a few.
