After three severely sub-par seasons in Orlando Jacque Vaughn has finally been relieved of his duties. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports Vaughn was notified of the decision this morning and the players are currently in a team meeting learning of the firing.

Don’t say I was never right. Vaughn was as pathetic as they come, posting an embarrassing record of 58-158 in two and a half seasons. Assistant coach James Borrego will become the interim head coach, but the team may look for a long term replacement over the All-Star break. If they do, a name to look for is former Magic player Scott Skiles.

Skiles has coached some good teams already, namely the “Baby Bulls” and later the Milwaukee Bucks. At this point anyone new is better than Vaughn and the Magic have a stable of young talent headlined by Victor Oladipo and Nikola Vucevic.
