Earlier today (Feb. 26), BBC Radio One aired Kanye West‘s interview with Zane Lowe‘s radio show. Last time he visited was back in 2013, where West delivered the interview that left us with quotes like “It’s been like that for a minute, Hedi Slimane!” and “We the new rockstars! We the culture!” But today we got to see another side of ‘Ye.
The rapper, who performed last night at the Brits 2015 and premiered “All Day,” got extremely emotional when talking about the “greatest fashion instructor of all time” Louise Wilson, who passed away in May last year. Wilson was the director of Central Saint Martins MA fashion degree at the time and had been credited with training some of the biggest British fashion designers, including Alexander McQueen, Christopher Kane, and Stella McCartney. Kanye attended Wilson’s memorial service, and described his last meeting with her at London’s Hakkasan.
Yeezy also discussed his Yeezy sneaker release, his show at New York Fashion Week, why Drake is currently the “hottest rapper in the game,” what it was like meeting Paul McCartney, and much more. Watch the full interview above.
