Charles Hamilton Signs New Deal With Republic Records

Yesterday it was announced (Feb. 18) that rapper Charles Hamilton has inked a new deal with Republic Records. The news comes just a few weeks after the Harlem emcee returned to the music scene with the cut “Correct.”

While details are scarce, the rapper is reportedly working on his debut album, scheduled to drop later this year.

Monte Lipman, co-founder and chief executive of Republic Records released a statement expressing her excitement about Hamilton’s new deal:

“Charles is back and the excitement for his return is immeasurable. The enthusiasm in the marketplace is overwhelming and we are thrilled to participate in the evolution of his career.”

Hamilton’s new single, “New York Raining” featuring Rita Ora, is set to appear during the March 18 finale of Fox’s Empire.
