Chance The Rapper Tried Out For A Part In ‘Straight Outta Compton’

Chicago’s Chance The Rapper tried out for a part in the upcoming N.W.A. biopic, Straight Outta Compton, but don’t expect to see him just yet. He revealed in an issue of Interview magazine, “I read for [Dr.] Dre but it wasn’t in God’s plan.” Even though he didn’t get the role, Chance admits he still wants to branch off into acting.

The 21-year-old mentioned that if he could be on any TV show, it would be “Real Husbands of Hollywood,” and that he’s a fan of “Empire.” Chance also shared his interest of dabbling in the comedy world by going to improv shows. Fans at his next tour should expect to hear some stand up comedy.

But before then, look out for Chance’s new album Surf, in collaboration with The Social Experiment. There’s still no release date, and there might not be.

“The album is very much so a Beyoncé kind of thing,” he revealed. “I can’t say the date of the project, but, I can say that it’s super dope.”
