On Sunday (Jan. 18) evening, Lucas Cavanaugh sent his last Snapchat before he was stabbed to death by a fellow classmate. After Matthew Fischer spotted a newly received Snapchat on his girlfriend’s phone, he immediately replied “Come over” and “I’ll kill you.”

According to police, Cavanaugh later showed up to the couple’s residence and the two boys got into a physical altercation. During their fight, Fischer allegedly pulled out a knife from his back pocket and stabbed Lucas in the chest where he died soon after.

Fischer fled the scene immediately and called his mother who then brought him back to where the fight had taken place. Fischer explained what happened to police and even confessed on video to the stabbing.

Fischer was denied bail Monday morning and is being charged with murder and possession of a knife during commission of a violent crime.
