Drake will join an eminent list of rappers who have headlined Coachella in the past including Jay Z, Kanye West, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, and most recently OutKast. Last year, the Toronto rapper made a surprise appearance during Jhené Aiko’s set and this year he will be headlining a night of this year’s festival.
Drake is currently working on his fourth album Views From the 6, which is due this spring.
Along with Drake, AC/DC and Jack White will each also headline a night. The three-night festival will take place on the weekends beginning April 10th and April 17th at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.
Other artists performing Flying Lotus, Raekwon and Ghostface, Lykke Li, Action Bronson, the Weeknd, FKA Twigs, SBTRKT, Tyler the Creator, the War on Drugs, Run the Jewels, Florence and the Machine, Lil B and more.
An excited Azealia Banks tweeted earlier today, “IM PLAYING COACHELLA Y’ALL !!!!! WOOOT WOOOT.”
The festival’s twitter handle surprised fans with a tweet that read, “For those about to RT,” with an image of the lineup attached.
Tickets for Coachella will go on sale at noon PST tomorrow, January 7th. More info is available on the Coachella website.
