According to the NYPD, the death of A$AP Yams is still unknown.

“Following the examination, the cause and manner of death are pending further studies,” a spokesperson for the public affairs department of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of New York City says.

Many fans and spectators attributed the cause of death this past Sunday (Jan. 18) to a possible drug overdose. A$AP Ant recently took it to Vlad TV to shut the rumors down.

The FADER reports the A$AP Mob co-founder was found “unconscious and unresponsive” by his roommate on Tuesday (Jan. 20). Sources have identified the roommate as A$AP Illz.

According to Julie Bolcer, a spokesperson for the public affairs department of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner of New York City,  an initial examination was performed on the body, and ‘following the examination, the cause and manner of death are pending further studies.’

Bolger has confirmed results from a more thorough autopsy will be known in the next few weeks.

“According to the NYPD, police responded to a 911 call placed by Rodriguez’ roommate on Sunday morning,” the publication says. “A complaint report filed by police in Brooklyn’s 90th precinct says Rodriguez was found by his roommate, laying down unconscious and unresponsive, then transported to Brooklyn’s Woodhull Medical Center. There were no apparent signs of trauma.
