After hibernating for nearly two decades, Jodeci resurfaces with a record and lyric video for “Nobody Wins,” promoting anti-domestic violence.
“We aren’t immune to issues that are important to our community. Domestic violence has always been an issue in relationships, but lately it’s been brought to the front of our community consciousness.” —K-Ci.
The group performed at the Soul Train Awards last month and threw in a small portion of their new song amid other hit singles such as “Forever My Lady,” “Come and Talk to Me,” and “Feenin.”
While Jodeci did spend their 18 year stint working on records, the group’s efforts never resulted in a final project cohesive enough to release—until now.
“When creating this album, we chose a body of work that really represents us as a group and represents what people are expecting to hear from Jodeci as a group. People will be pleasantly surprised,” said Mr. Dalvin in an interview with RollingStone Magazine.
The group is treating their memorable return as a responsibility because they have always been a very prominent band with an influential voice. Of course the main goal is still to entertain and inspire, but they are now ready to hit on some of the more serious issues. Just be ready because Jodeci is coming back with their vocals warmed up and ready to go.
Their new album is set to drop during the first quarter of the new year.
