J.Cole Gets Personal In New "Intro" Video

We get the first taste of J.Cole’s upcoming album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive with the new video for “Intro”. The album will officially be released on December 9th. Forest Hills Drive, is the site of his childhood home in Fayetteville, North Carolina, yet in his “Intro” video he chooses to take us down the streets of New York City on a calming nighttime bike ride.

“Intro” mirrors a heartfelt spoken word piece telling one and all to escape the chaos of life and choose happiness. With this project J.Cole is showing a new side of himself. No extravagant name brand clothing, natural hair, and the results of no shave November can all be seen in his new image that has gotten a lot of praise. His new image, sound and demonstrated political activism that we saw earlier this week with Cole protesting in New York City for Justice for Eric Garner, is showing us the kind of man the J.Cole is choosing to be moving forward.

Similar to Born Sinner, J.Cole was responsible for most of the production on 2014 Forest Hills Drive. He chose not to incorporate any guest appearances and let his work speak for itself as well as debuting the album without releasing any singles. He caught fans by surprise with an announcement made on November 16th through a Facebook post,

“This time I’m releasing no singles, just the album. See you in 3 weeks. Thank you for the love and support.”

We love the new Cole that we are seeing, and cannot wait for his new album. He has our love and support.
