The 2014 “Guilty Pleasure Of The Year” Award || The Ether Report

Award: Guilty Pleasure Of The Year

Nominees: Migos, Young Thug, Childish Gambino

Breakdown: We all have that one pleasurable hobby/habit, despite feeling guilty, that we thoroughly enjoy. To quote Kanye West, “Why everything that’s supposed to be bad make me feel so good?” Music is no different, and 2014 had no shortage of Guilty Pleasures. With catchy singles galore, there were plenty of artists who found their way into our playlists whether we’d like to admit it or not.

Migos‘ tales from the trap kept our aux cords on fire, Childish Gambino created his own world, but Young Thug crooned his way to the top of the charts. He gave us “Lifestyle” and “About The Money,” each arguably some of the best songs of 2014 and his work ethic was unmatched. Thugger kept the people talking, but more importantly, the speakers buzzing no matter what anyone says. Therefore he was crowned our winner.

Winner: Young Thug

Honorable Mentions: Riff Raff, Yung Lean, Rae Sremmurd, Corbin (Spooky Black), ILoveMakonnen
