Solange Knowles tied the knot with music video director Alan Ferguson in New Orleans today. The ceremony, attended by Knowles’ mother Tina, big sister Beyoncé and brother-in-law Jay Z, niece Blue Ivy, Janelle Monae, and countless other celebrity guests, took place at Holy Trinity Church in the Crescent City’s Bywater neighborhood, Us Weekly reports. But the couple did not take the traditional route with their nuptials, and that is probably why their wedding may just be the best we have ever seen.
The couple ditched the traditional stretch limo, instead opting to arrive at the ceremony on white-painted bicycles-Solange’s specifically decorated with cream roses. The singer also rocked an ivory-toned jumpsuit. How’s that for your modern bride? She walked down the aisle to one of the couple’s favorite songs, a symphonic instrumental of Donny Hathaway’s, “I Love the Lord, He Heard My Cry.” TThe guests also wore all white, and were treated to performances by musician friends Kelela, Questlove, and Kindness-and a dance-off between Knowles and her ten-year-old son Daniel Julez to “No Flex Zone.” She basically took everything you thought a wedding would be and flipped it. Bravo Solange, bravo.
