Drake Hosts First Annual Hood Grammys”

Drake decided to have his own awards ceremony on Sunday, taking to Instagram to hand out “Hood Grammys” to some of his favorite rap releases of the year so far.

Drizzy kicked off his ceremony by honoring Bobby Shmurda with “Vocal Performance of the Year,” most likely for the Shmoney Dance anthem “Hot N***a,” posting an image of a Grammy saying “we need it.”

Drake couldn’t make a decision in his next post when it came to deciding who deserved the award for “Best Performance By A Group Or Duo,” so he handed it to Rae Sremmurd and Rich Gang for their respective hits “No Flex Zone” and “Lifestyle.”

His next awards had its very own “#HoodGrammys” hashtag, handing OG Maco “the award for best all around turn up…” for his hit “U Guessed It” ft. Key!.

The OVO frontman rounded out the awards by handing the final two to his OVO-signees, ILOVEMAKONNEN and PARTYNEXTDOOR, with ILOVEMAKONNEN winning “Best Latin Club Anthem” for the track “Tuesday,” which features Drake himself, and PARTYNEXTDOOR taking home “Mixtape of the Year” for “PARTYNEXTDOOR Two.”

On one of the posts Drake wrote, “haaaaa Grammy’s need to have a rap year. Run it up.” We feel you.
