Back in 1970, Dona received a doll, Annabelle, from her mother as a going a way [to college] gift. Donna and her roommate Angie begin to notice that things were getting really creepy as they began to feel Annabelle watching over them. But as if that wasn’t bad enough, they’d find her in places they hadn’t left her. Was Annabelle moving…by herself? It gets worse…
Lou, a friend of Donna and Angie’s, who is open about his dislike for Annabelle begins having nightmares and wakes up with the doll sitting near him. As he approaches her he begins to feel a burning sensation in the back of his neck and well…I won’t spoil the rest for you.
The Conjuring and Annabelle are related stories linking to a husband and a wife name Ed and Lorraine Warren who are demonologist studying these freaks of nature. But don’t worry, the doll won’t show up when your Christmas shopping at Toys R’ Us…but don’t quote me if it does.
Personally, I was excited to see the Annabelle because The Conjuring was one of the best scary movies I had seen in the while. But when I left that theater I was beyond disappointed. On a scale from 1-10, with 10 being the highs, I give this movie a 4.5 and thats just cause the music kept me on my toes. There was no scare factor to the movie aside from the common ‘something’s-gonna-happen-I-just-know-it’ pop up scene. The “scary” scenes were mediocre and I slept like a baby that night. Save your dollars and go watch something else.
