How to become a Migos fan in 17 minutes…

migos

I’ve got a confession, and I wholeheartedly believe I’m not the only one with it so I’ll just go ahead and say it…

Up until a few weeks ago I was not aware Migos was a trio and not just one person. Total mind fuck. I know. In an effort, of what I assume, to provide more clarity Migos released “Bando” – The Move via Complex yesterday. Slightly intrigued, I watched it. After reflecting on the visual I had grown to appreciate the group, realizing I had almost underestimated them beforehand.

The Rik Cordero directed film dives into the early lives of Quavo, Offset and Takeoff a.k.a. Migos. They start their careers by hustling and running in the streets, but as many of us know what goes up must come down. After being busted by 5-0 in the ‘trap house,’ Migos uses their hustling money to promote and focus on their music. Now that’s admirable!

Their humble beginnings start off at local shows and clubs where they’d perform for free just to build an audience. They wisely build relationships with club promoters and DJs while perfecting their craft at Momma Quavo, who’s seen offering Grade A pieces of advice. You might be able to use some yourself…

I’m not saying you necessarily have to be a die-hard fan, but you’ve got to give credit where it’s due, and after watching 17 minutes of the Migos come-up I’m sure as hell shooting credit by the boatload in their direction. Whoever said hard work didn’t pay off lied.

Contraband, contraband contraband…
