We caught up with rapper/actor/model Don Benjamin while he was in NYC recently. He spoke to us about some of the transitions in his career and future ventures.
He also elaborated with us on the pride he takes in “building up woman” through his music as a result of his mother’s past relationships.
“I got a few songs talking about things I experienced, watching my mom was in a lot of domestic violence relationships and stuff so….being a kid having to see that, I think it makes you appreciate women more. (Makes) you want to build them up rather then degrade them.”
After starring on America’s top model (cycle 20), Don shares the strategy he took to NOT look like a fool on Reality TV.
“I wanted to play the ladies man role, but once I got into it, I seen that everybody was younger and they were striving for the wrong type of attention. I kind of just sat back and watched — I Knew how easy it is to look like a fool on reality TV.”
