Danity Kane breaks up again, and the reasons behind it will blow your mind, much like Dawn Richard’s temper. It’s said that it was an ambush that caused the split, two member against one.
It all started with betrayal, it’s rumored that Shannon Bex and Aubrey O’Day were having secret meetings to discuss the groups business matters, and even recording tracks…WITHOUT HER! Well, these meetings were secret at least until Monday, when their cover was reportedly blown.
More than their cover was blown however, apparently Dawn Richard had some aggression that she unleashed as well. “During a recent group meeting, a business conversation took a turn for the worst when my group member punched me in the back of my head while I was speaking to another associate. To be clear, she was not physically engaged or threatened prior to her attack on me” wrote Aubrey in a statement that was released on Twitter as well as the groups’ website.
Aubrey says that the brawl and break up ended with “no signs of remorse” and revealed that negativity has been steaming up during the past year along with Dawn’s behavior, which has gotten “darker and darker. “For the past year, I watched small lies turn into bigger lies. Those bigger lies turned into verbal abuse. Now the verbal abuse has deteriorated into a physical assault,” she wrote. “I put what I knew was right second to what I knew I could handle for the sake of the big-picture success this incredibly talented group of women could have achieved together.”
All of this just before they crossed the finish line for their brand new album, the only one besides their 2008 Welcome to the Dollhouse. Danity Kane has gone through major changes since their creation from Diddy’s Making the Band 3 on MTV. Originally a group of five, the group split a year later but then reunited in 2013 with out member D Woods. Then later down the road Aundrea Fimbres also left, to devote her time to starting a family.
But now, after releasing a single with Tyga “Lemonade” it is the end of the road for the last three members.
“As for the actions that have brought us to this broken ending, I cannot speak for anyone or explain their internal struggles that prompted this heartbreaking sequence of events. All I know is what I have seen. I did not witness a shouting match, a cat fight or a brawl. I witnessed a single direct punch.”
Shannon later chimes in with Aubrey“We know it must be devastating for our fans to have spent the last twelve months supporting our every move, and for that we cannot apologize enough.”
Dawn has yet to release a statement of her own, but she does disagree with the two’s statement saying that they are “exaggerated lies and false accusations.”
