Tinashe was first placed in the spotlight as a member of the girl band The Stunners. After the girl group broke up in 2011, she released two mixtapes in 2012—In Case We Die and Reverie—and one mixtape in 2013, Black Water. Later in 2012, she signed with RCA Records.
I don’t know about you, but I am anxiously awaiting the release of her album this upcoming September. I have been able to keep my withdrawal symptoms in check with the few tracks and music videos that she has released already. Tracks like “This Feeling,” “BOSS,” “Ecstacy,” and “Can’t Say No” are songs that have been turned into sexy music videos; the kind you can’t help but grind your hips to and yes, even those of you who claim to hate dancing.
Her latest single, “2 On,” featuring ScHoolboy Q was released and had heads immediately snapping in her direction. It is what officially has me marking off the days on the calendar until September. Her voice is soothing and this single perfectly fits the R&B persona she has created thus far. The video has over 8 million views on YouTube and this single gained enough popularity for her to make her debut performance at the BET Awards. If your hips weren’t swaying to the beat of her tracks before, they definitely are now.
Just put her singles on shuffle and you have all that you need.
