Since Frank Ocean was first introduced to the public at large in 2011 after his sensational mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra, he has remained a fixture in the game. His debut studio album Channel Orange did not disappoint in 2012, leading Ocean to Grammys and collaborations with artists such as Jay-Z and Kanye West. Ocean was the only other feature on Watch The Throne besides Jay-Z’s wife Beyoncé.
As Ocean now preps for his sophomore album set to hit shelves later this year, he will be doing it with new management. It was reported by Buzzfeed that the Odd Future singer has fired his management team and publicist, both who represent the rest of Odd Future. There have been no statements from Ocean or his former management team, Christian and Kelly Clancy at this time. Ocean left his publicist, Life or Death PR who also work with Ocean’s Odd Future pals, for ID PR. The Hollywood based firm represents acts such as Alicia Keys, Paul Simon, Jennifer Lawrence and more. Is this the beginning of the end for Frank Ocean in Odd Future? Look out for a statement from Ocean in the coming days.
