15 Things That Make T.I. the KING


T.I.’s new single “No Mediocre” is taking over the rap world this week and is getting tons of listens from the radio world as well – thanks to the featured “Fancy” rapper, Iggy Azelea.

  1. Lets start off basic. His biological name is Clifford Joseph Harris, Jr.
  2. He’s been rapping since he was eight years old. He is 33 years old.
  3. The rapper likes to keep himself busy, he’s released eight studio albums through out his career – and from the looks of it, doesn’t look like he’s going to stop anytime soon
  4. He married singer/songwriter and former Xscape member Tiny (Tameka Cottle-Pope) in 2010. The same year the two were arrested for possession of a controlled substance while driving in LA.
  5. His family had their own VHI reality show called “T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle.”
  6. Recently, rap artist Azealia Banks insulted Tiny through social media, setting off T.I. When asked by TMZ about the situation he said he’d bite someone’s throat off if they talked about his family.

  1. After serving time in jail, he released his first novel titled “Power & Beauty: A Love Story of Life on the Streets
  2. After a fight broke out outside a club last April, T.I., The Game, and others had a stand off with the LAPD. They believed the police beat up their friend.

  1. If you haven’t noticed already, T.I. is the KING of collaborations. He’s featured on some of the most known songs of the biggest artists including “Soldier” by Destiny’s Child, “Shoulder Lean” by Young Dro, and of course “Blurred Lines” by Robin Thicke.
  2. In 2007, Forbes released their list of “Top Hip-Hop Cash Kings,” where T.I. earned a spot for three years
  3. His movie ATL released in 2006. If you haven’t seen it, there’s something wrong with you. It’s so good.
  4. In 2003, he started his own record label, Grand Hustle Records. Artists signed under the label are B.o.B., Young Dro, and Trae the Truth. Iggy Azalea is “heavily affiliated” with the group.
  5. Last December, Grand Hustle’s artist Doe B was shot and killed in Alabama at a bar and grill.

14. Last month, T.I. had an altercation with Floyd Mayweather while on the Las Vegas strip. A chair was thrown, a video was recorded, and a Fatburger employee got a slash wound.
