Freezing Never Felt So Good | #ImWithCupid (NYC)

Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 11.43.51 PMI had the liberty of I stripped down to the bare minimum of my undies, (and super-comfortable sports bra), over the weekend and I must admit I can’t wait to do it again. Yes, it sounds crazy, but there’s really no other way to put it. It’s called the “Cupid Undie Run,” and it’s for an awesome cause.

What is cupid’s undie run?

Cupid’s Undie Run is a mile(ish) run in your bedroom-best on Valentine’s weekend. No, we’re not crazy, we’re just crazy serious about raising money for The Children’s Tumor Foundation. We raised over $1.3 Million in donations last year, so come join the fun and help us hit $3 Million for 2014! Festivities start mid-day on Saturday, February 15th* 2014, then we run/dance around the streets for the main event and come back for more post-race festivities and awards.  Your Valentine’s Day will never be the same! So, I – along with my awesome and bold friend Justin – ran in our undies in the freezing cold to participate in this year’s run and see what it was about. Thank you Baby Jesus for the respectable quality of an iPhone’s photograph. Check our journey out.

Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 11.44.00 PMThese are our “game faces.” We’re ready…or so we thought. Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 11.42.58 PMJustin flexes outside as we await our green light to get this run going. Damn, it’s cold. Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 11.43.42 PMAs we waited for the traffic light to signal us “go,” I jumped up and down while eagerly repeating my mantra for the afternoon – “this is for charity, this is for charity, this is for charity.” Just then, the woman you see in the background, who was working the event, (behind my ‘muscular’ arm) says “It is. You’re doing this for children like mine.” At that very moment my heart melted and my body became warm. I sprinted the rest of the way with an energy I didn’t know I had. Talk about rewarding.

Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 11.43.05 PMHere we are post race at Stage 48, where the before and after party was held. Yea my chest burned a little, but who had time to wine about that when the music was pumping? Festivities began at noon sharp and continued until 4:30PM. As you can see, refreshments were not lacking.Screen Shot 2014-02-16 at 11.43.29 PM

Overall, I’ve got to say the event was a huge success and despite the following morning’s cold, which I still have, I’d do it all over again. Shout out to all the sponsors: Stage 48, Yelp, Boothify, New Balance, etc. image_12

“Freezing never felt so good.” This one was for you Kylie! Follow @CupidsUndieRun on Twitter for updates on a race in a city near you and myself (@kymmiceelive) if you’d like to start raising money via Team Fancy Panties! Donations, whether it be $1 or $100, will provide critical funding to the Children’s Tumor Foundation and allow for clinical trials, treatments and ultimately the cure we desperately need.

Kymmi loves the kids..
