We’ve heard about that young lyricist that reminded everyone of Aaliyah, but do we all know her name?
Raykeea Wilson, best known by her stage name Angel Haze, was born and raised in Michigan. At 21 years old, the young emcee is currently signed to Universal Republic and Island where she has continued to keep her image buzzing, especially during the conclusion of 2012. Overall 2012 just proved to be a good year for Haze as she released her EP “Voice” in April, “Reservation” in July and “Classick“ in October. Talk about hard at work. She also took part in 2012’s BET Hip-Hop Award’s Cypher alongside A$AP Rocky, Joey Bada$$ and Childish Gambino.
After the release of her mixtape “Classick,” Angel’s version of Eminem’s “Cleanin’ Out My Closet” turned heads as she let others in on a burden of her own. Earbuddy’s John Downey wrote, “Haze’s take on Slim Shady’s classic tune might be the superior product.”
In recent news Haze became a trending topic on Twitter while allegedly “beefing” with rapper Azealia Banks over a tweet. Banks tweeted: “Seriously, if you were not born and raised in NY…. DON’T CLAIM NY. YOU ARE NOT A NEW YORKER.”
It didn’t take before Haze retaliated with a couple of tweets and a diss track titled “On The Edge,” but enough about the beef. We’re here to highlight the good, though Angel’s verse wasn’t half bad. In fact, take a listen for yourself – however know that I do not condone negativity!
So there was a little taste of what the wrath of Haze can be like. Any thoughts?
I’m sure the diss above wasn’t enough, so do your ears some justice and make sure to download Haze’s latest project below. She’s young, she’s got bars and can even sing a tune or two. Catch her on her own hooks and be the judge for yourself. I cannot tell a lie, but what I do tell is truth and Angel Haze, my friends, is next.,
