Curren$y is set to kick off the new year in NYC at SOB’s on Thursday, January 3rd. One of the most prolific rapper of the 21st century, his output in the past two years includes an astonishing total of five full-length albums, with various stellar mixtapes and EPs in between. After deals fizzled out with Master P’s No Limit and Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment, Curren$y decided to venture off to do business on his own. For several months throughout 2008, Curren$y released a series of mixtapes, including This Ain’t No Mixtape and Jet Files and landed himself on the cover of the XXL Magazine Freshmen 10 of 2009. He then hooked up with Damon Dash’s imprint DD172, and released Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk II only months apart, independent releases that catapulted him into the national spotlight.

On February 1, 2011, Curren$y signed a label deal with Warner Bros. Records for his imprint Jet Life Recordings. Covert Coup, produced by Alchemist, was his first project on the Jet Life Recordings imprint under Warner Bros, followed by his major label debut Stoned Immaculate, and most recently with Cigarette Boats, produced by the young up-and-coming producer, Harry Fraud.
