Austin Miller, better known as Austin Millz, was born on October 30th, 1988 in Harlem, New York. As a child of a Puerto Rican and African American matrimony, his cultured roots aided in the development of a strong enthusiasm for music.
Millz grew up influenced by a diverse array of music that varied from the blues to hip-hop. As a kid, he recalls listening to Motown records around the house as well as some of today’s better-known hip-hop classics. Austin’s musical curiosities led him to pick up the saxophone at age 13, but his hunger to further pursue music didn’t end there.
With his deep passion for music, Austin decided to take his musical pursuits to the next level. In 2005, equipped with a PC and ear for music, he began feeding his musical cravings by dabbling with Fruity Loops. Austin taught himself to use the software so that he could begin producing in his teenage years. He also began to study audio engineering concepts during middle school and high school in an effort to master his craft.
In 2006, Austin experienced his first music break when Loud Records/SRC A&R Sean C. got a hold of his records. Shortly after, legendary production duo Sean C and LV took Austin under their wing. Despite his fortunate sequence of events Austin did not stop pursuing his education. The Penn State attendee took a production hiatus to complete his academic duties and graduated the university in 2010.
At the very beginning of 2012, Austin released his debut instrumental beat tape, “Earned,” which received love from some of the most influential Internet blogs. “Earned” also landed him a spot with media outlets such as The Source Mag and HipHopWired. Austin scored an international placement on UK’s well-respected site ‘The Hip Hop Chronicle’ and has also ‘earned’ major placements with the Capo Jim Jones and other artists such as A.P., Al Doe, Th Bravehearts, Panama, Show Tufli, Chill Moody and more.
Today, Austin continues to make a name for himself among the boroughs of New York. Be sure to follow the kid on Twitter and keep up with all of his latest updates for a chance to ‘cee’ him in #live action.
